Cookie Policy

Below we inform you in a transparent manner about the operation on this website (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”) of so-called cookies.

Definition of Cookies

Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit send and store on your computer or mobile device, and which are then sent back to the same websites the next time you visit them. It is thanks to cookies that the website remembers your actions and preferences (e.g. login information, chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be re-entered when you return to that website or browse from one page to another. Therefore, cookies are used to perform computer authentication, session tracking and storage of information regarding the activities of users accessing a website. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard drive, transmit computer viruses or capture email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some of the functions of cookies may be delegated to other technologies. The term “cookies” refers to cookies and all similar technologies.

Purposes of processing and of technical session cookies

Cookies on the Website are used for the purposes of computer authentication or session tracking and the storage of specific technical information concerning users accessing our servers. In this respect, some operations on the Website may not be carried out without the use of cookies, which are therefore technically necessary in such cases. By way of example, access to reserved areas of the Website and the activities that can be carried out in those areas would be much more complex to carry out and less secure without the presence of cookies that allow user identification and to maintain your identification during the session.

Pursuant to Article 122, paragraph 1, of Legislative Decree No. 196 of 30 June 2003, integrated with amendments by Legislative Decree No. 101 of 10 August 2018, “technical” cookies may be used even without the consent of the data subject. Among other things, the same European body that brings together all the National Data Protection Authorities of the various Member States (the so-called “Article 29” Working Party) now EDPB, has clarified in Opinion 4/2012 (WP194) entitled “Cookie Consent Exemption” that the following cookies do not require the prior and informed consent of the user:

1) user-input cookies (session ID), for the duration of a session or persistent cookies limited to a few hours in some cases;

2) authentication cookies, used for the purpose of authenticated services, for the duration of a session;

3) user-centric security cookies, used to detect authentication abuses, for a limited persistent duration;

4) multimedia player session cookies, such as ‘flash’ player cookies, for the duration of a session;

5) load balancing session cookies, for the duration of a session;

6) persistent UI customisation cookies, for the duration of a session (or slightly longer);

7) third-party social plug-in content sharing cookies, for logged-in members of a social network.

Finally, there are analytical cookies, which are cookies used for statistical analysis of the use of the website and to monitor its correct operation. If they are used by adopting IP masking mechanisms, they are assimilated to technical cookies.
